The RAM-VB-186ST1-SW1 RAM 1500 No-Drill Laptop Mount installs quickly using the existing passenger-side seat hardware with no drilling required. Designed exclusively for 5th Generation RAM 1500 pickup trucks (2019–Current), this mounting system also serves as a 5th Gen RAM 1500 Laptop Mount and RAM Pickup Laptop Mount for professionals who need a secure and reliable mobile workspace.
This RAM 1500 No-Drill Laptop Mount features a telescoping pole with an adjustable height from 12″ to 18″, dual swing arms providing up to 12″ of reach, and RAM® ball and socket technology for superior adjustability and vibration damping. The included legacy RAM® Tough-Tray™ securely supports 10″–17″ laptops and is ideal as a Fleet Vehicle Laptop Mount and Law Enforcement Laptop Mount for police, utility, service, emergency response and other commercial vehicles. Compatible accessories such as the RAM® Screen Support and USB Light expand your mobile office, while integrated mounting holes allow easy attachment of GPS units, scanners and other RAM® accessories.

- Is this kit compatible with my 2018 RAM 1500?
No. The RAM-VB-186ST1-SW1 is designed exclusively for the redesigned 2019 and newer RAM 1500 (DT platform). It is not compatible with the RAM 1500 Classic (DS platform) or any RAM 1500 models from 2018 and earlier.
- s this compatible with my 2024 RAM 1500 Classic Quad Cab?
No. The RAM-VB-186ST1-SW1 is not compatible with any RAM 1500 Classic models, including the 2024 RAM 1500 Classic Quad Cab.
For RAM 1500 Classic trucks, we recommend the RAM-VB-178A-SW1, which is specifically designed for those vehicles.
- What is the weight capacity of this laptop mount?
The RAM-VB-186ST1-SW1 uses a RAM® C Size (1.5″) ball and socket system, which has a maximum recommended load capacity of 4 lbs (1.8 kg) for dynamic applications. This makes it ideal for securely supporting most laptops and mobile workstations during normal vehicle operation.
- What's the difference between the RAM Mount SW1 and SW3 laptop systems?
The primary difference between the SW1 and SW3 laptop systems is the included laptop tray.
The SW1 system includes the original RAM® Tough-Tray™ (RAM-234-3), while the SW3 system includes the newer RAM® Tough-Tray™ III (RAM-234-7).
