The RAM-B-138-AP8LU is a flat surface marine grade aluminum mount that has a 2.5 inch diameter flat surface base with pre-drilled holes, standard sized length arm with keyed lock, universal round adapter plate and cradle with lock for the following devices (WITHOUT a bumper cover, case or skin):

Base: RAM-B-202U 2.5 inch diameter base with pre-drilled holes and 1 inch diameter rubber ball. The pre-drilled holes accommodate the AMPS hole pattern. Mounting hardware is NOT INCLUDED.
Arm: RAM-B-201LU standard sized length arm for 1 inch balls. The arm measures 2.875 inches between socket centers (3.6875 inches in overall length) and has a keyed locking knob (2 keys included). 
Adapter: RAM-B-202U 2.5 inch diameter base with pre-drilled holes and 1 inch diameter rubber ball. The pre-drilled holes accommodate the AMPS hole pattern.
Holder/Cradle: RAM-HOL-AP8LU high strength plastic holder for the Apple iPad specified above. Place the top of the device into the cradle, and then push the base into the expandable arms at the bottom of the holder. The arms will then snap into place when the iPad is completely secured in the cradle. The cradle allows all cables (not included) to stay connected while the device unit is in the cradle. Hardware to attach the holder/cradle to the RAM-B-202U is included.

RAM-B-201LU Detailed Description: Black powder coated marine grade aluminum locking arm allows a 1 inch diameter ball accessory to be connected at either end. A tightening knob on the side of the arm enables the sockets to clamp firmly to the attached accessories. The arm allows for easy adjustment by loosening the side knob, a single spring inside the arm opens the sockets, allowing the arm to pivot on the attached accessory. This enables the arm and accessories to be positioned at various angles allowing the ultimate in position flexibility. Loosen the knob completely and the arm will disconnect from the accessories.
