The RAM-217U has a 2.5 inch round marine grade aluminum universal base plate with pre-drilled holes, two 1.5 inch diameter rubber balls and plastic locking knob The RAM-217U has a plastic cap covering a 5/8" diameter open hole. The OPTIONAL RAM-208U 1.5 inch diameter ball with post can be used for a third mounting ball using the RAM-217U 5/8" diameter open hole.
