The RAM-B-177-AP8U is a marine grade aluminum U channel clamp base designed to mount to the lip edge of a flat surface 1.12 inches thick such as a glare shield on an airplane or car side window edge lip, short sized length arm, round adapter plate and cradle for the devices specified below (WITHOUT bumper cover, case or skin):

  • Apple iPad 2
  • HP TouchPad 1st Generation

  • Included U Channel Base Clamp: RAM-B-259U powder coated marine grade aluminum u-channel clamp base. This glare shield clamp mount with clamp mounts is designed to mount to the lip edge of a flat surface up to 1.12 inches thick. 
    • This base will attach to flat surfaces with the following dimensions:
      Min: 4.4mm / 0.17 inches
      Max: 28.0mm / 1.12 inches
    • Includes two plastic bolts that, when tightened, clamp the base to the lip surface.
    • 1 inch diameter rubber ball is connected to the base.
  • Included Arm: RAM-B-201U-A black powder coated marine grade aluminum short sized length arm for 1 inch balls.
    • Measures 1.75 inches between socket centers.
    • Measures 2.4375 inches in overall total length.
    • The arm allows for easy adjustment by loosening the plastic side knob, a single spring inside the arm opens the sockets, allowing the arm to pivot on the attached base accessory. This enables the arm and accessories to be positioned at various angles allowing the ultimate in position flexibility. Loosen the knob completely and the arm will disconnect from the accessories.
    • Optional Arms:
      • RAM-B-201U 2.875 inches from socket center to socket center is available.
      • RAM-B-201U-C 5.25 inches from socket center to socket center is available.
  • Included Adapter: RAM-B-202U black powder coated marine grade aluminum universal 2.5 inch diameter plate with attached 1 inch diameter rubber ball.
    • Compatible with AMPS hole pattern. The adapter will connect to RAM cradles (RAM-HOL-xxxx series) and third party cradles with the AMPS hole pattern.
  • Included Cradle: RAM-HOL-AP8U high strength plastic holder for the devices specified above attaches to the RAM-B-202U adapter. Place the top of the device into the cradle, and then push the base into the expandable arms at the bottom of the holder. The arms will then snap into place when the device is completely secured in the cradle. The cradle allows all cables (NOT INCLUDED) to stay connected and controls to be operated while the device is in the cradle.
