This mount is designed to be a universal mounting solution for both still and moving cameras.

The RAM-B-138-339-C1U consists of the following: 2.5 inch base plate RAM-B-202U, standard arm RAM-B-201U, magnetic base RAP-339U and 1/4"-20 aluminum camera stud RAM-B-202AU.

Base Design: The base is the RAM-B-202U powder coated marine grade aluminum screw down plate.  This base has a 1.0 inch diameter rubber ball connected to a 2.5 inch diameter plate.

The RAP-339U contains 3 rare Earth magnets, that is incredibly strong and drawn to ferrous metals.  The plastic adapter is designed to conceal the magnets and is made of durable plastic to prevent scratching of the mounting surface. NOTE: This mount should NOT be used with any device that has an internal hard drive. The magnet may damage the hard drive. This includes the Apple iPod with hard drives and other small battery operated devices.

Arm Design: The arm is the RAM-B-201U powder coated marine grade aluminum.  This double socket arm is 3.0 inches long when measured between socket centers.  The total length of the arm is 3.7 inches. This arm is considered the standard length arm.  Optional arms include the short "A" arm RAM-B-201U-A and longer "C" RAM-B-201U-C arm.

Camera Plate Design: The RAM-B-202AU is a 2.5 inch round powder coated marine grade aluminum universal camera plate with a 1.0 diameter ball.  The camera plate has a male 1/4"-20 camera thread that connects to the female thread found on the bottom of most camera and video cameras. 

An alternative camera mounting solution is the RAM-B-237U 1.0 diameter ball with a male 1/4"-20 aluminum camera stud.
